How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost per Month? What You Pay in Year One and After (2026)

The plans I checked cost $10 to $29 a month billed yearly for one small business website, before your domain and business email. Hostinger is lower if you prepay four years. The catch is year two: free domains and email often last one year, and sale prices renew higher, so I priced year one and year two. Checked on 31 October 2026.

A website has up to five costs, and sellers usually advertise only the first. I opened each seller's own pricing page on 31 October 2026 and wrote down what one business pays in the first year, what it pays after, and what you still buy separately. Prices are US dollars before tax. Sources are at the end.

The five costs of a small business website

CostWhat it isHow it's usually charged
The planThe builder and hosting that keep the site onlineMonthly, or cheaper per month if you pay yearly
The domainYour address, like yourbusiness.comYearly. Several sellers include the first year free
Business emailyou@yourbusiness.comPer mailbox, or included in the plan
ExtrasA blog, AI builds and edits, a storeIncluded, a higher plan, or a separate bill
Your time, or someone else'sBuilding and updating it yourself, or paying a personHours, or a fee that depends on who you hire

Your Google Business Profile, the listing that shows you on Google Maps and Search, is free to create (Google, checked on 31 October 2026). It's not a website cost, but it's part of being found, and some builders help you set it up.

What the plans cost

One business, one website. Where a seller shows a yearly and a monthly price, I list both.

ServiceBilled yearly, per monthBilled monthlyDomainBusiness emailAfter the first year
LotsBusiness Starter$10 ($120 a year)$19Buy one here, paid separately (first-year and renewal price shown before you pay), connect one you own, or use a free yourname.lotssite.com addressIncluded: unlimited mailboxes on your own domain, once the domain is connectedThe pricing page lists one yearly price and no introductory rate
Squarespace Basic$19 ($228)$25Free for the first year on annual plans, then standard rateNot on Basic. Core ($29 yearly, $39 monthly) includes one Google Workspace account free for the first yearDomain and email renew at standard rates, which the page doesn't list
Hostinger PremiumSale price shown today: $2.49, paid as $119.52 upfront for a 48-month termPaid upfront onlyFree for 1 year2 mailboxes per website, free for 1 yearRenews at $10.99 a month for the same term
Durable Launch$22 ($264)$25A domain credit of up to $20, or connect your ownNot listed on its pricing pageNot stated on the page
Webflow Basic$15 ($180)Not recordedCustom domain is a listed featureNot listed on its pricing pageNot stated on the page

Webflow Basic is described by Webflow as "for simple sites that don't need a CMS". The $25 a month Premium plan adds the CMS ($300 a year, billed yearly), which is what a blog needs on Webflow. GoDaddy's builder page today shows a free start with 50 AI credits a month and a free domain with any paid plan, but its plan prices did not load for me, so I list none. Wix has a free plan; I don't quote its prices here.

Year one and year two, side by side

Take a solo owner with one site and one email address on their own domain, billed yearly. Domain prices differ by ending and seller, so I show the domain as D, your domain's yearly price (every seller shows it before you pay), and leave it out of the plan and email totals. For Google Workspace I use Google's own list price of $7 per user a month on an annual commitment (Google Workspace pricing, checked on 31 October 2026), as a stand-in where a plan has no email.

SetupYear 1Year 2Per month, year 2
LotsBusiness Starter, email included$120 + D$120 + D$10 + D/12
Squarespace Basic + Google Workspace$228 + $84 = $312 (domain free in year 1)$312 + D$26 + D/12
Squarespace Core (Google account free in year 1)$348 (domain free)$348 + $84 = $432, plus D$36 + D/12
Durable Launch + Google Workspace$264 + $84 = $348, less a domain credit of up to $20$348 + D (renewal not stated)$29 + D/12
Hostinger Premium (sale term, paid upfront)$119.52 covers all 48 months of hosting; domain and 2 mailboxes free in year 1$0 hosting; you pay D and any mailboxes after the free year$0 + D/12 and mailboxes

What I take from this:

  • Hostinger has the lowest cash cost if you can prepay four years and are happy to build the site yourself. Its domain and mailboxes are free for the first year only, and after the term the plan renews at $10.99 a month, about four times the sale price. The page doesn't give mailbox prices after the free year.
  • Email decides the middle of the table. On Squarespace Basic and Durable, a $7 mailbox adds $84 a year. LotsBusiness includes unlimited mailboxes in the plan, so a team of five costs the same as one person.
  • Watch what "free" covers. A free domain is free for one year on Squarespace and Hostinger, and Durable gives a credit. Year two is where D appears on every row.

What's in the LotsBusiness price

I built LotsBusiness for owners who want to be found without assembling five services, so this is where I can be exact. A paid business gets the website with hosting, a Google Business Profile set up step by step with Google's own verification, business email, visitor stats and your contact-form messages in one dashboard. Every paid business gets the same features. Plans differ only in how many businesses they cover.

Since 30 and 31 October there are four things that change the monthly math:

  • A new website editor. Your pages are made of sections you add, move and change, with a live preview at computer or phone width. Changes save as a draft, and you can undo a step or use "Undo all my edits". Editing yourself is always free.
  • Build with AI. Answer a few questions about your business and the AI builds a full draft from your details, services and photos. You see a private preview first, and nothing goes live until you publish. On a plan, each business gets 3 AI builds and 20 AI changes every month. After that a build uses 200 LotsTech Credits ($0.20) and a change 50 credits ($0.05), and you're always shown the price and asked first. If a build fails without a draft, the credits come back.
  • A blog on your own site. In Website > Settings > Blog you can add a blog at yourbusiness.com/blog, new or one you already have in LotsBlog. It uses your site's header and footer. LotsBusiness adds nothing for it: it's billed on LotsBlog's plans. LotsBlog's pay as you go rate is $9 per blog a month from credits, and its plans start at $24 a month for three blogs (both checked on 31 October 2026). A blog is optional, so it only adds to your bill if you want one.
  • Buy your domain, or let us manage the one you have. For a paid business, open the Website tab and choose Get a new domain. You see the first-year price and the renewal price before you pay. The domain is registered in your name, with free privacy protection where the domain ending allows it and a transfer lock, and your website and business email are connected for you. It's paid separately from your plan. If you already own a domain, keep it where you bought it, or in Website > Domains choose Manage a domain you already own: we read its records, list them in plain words, and you confirm each one before anything changes.

With these, a one-business setup is $10 a month billed yearly plus D/12 for the domain, and an optional $9 a month for a blog. Billed monthly it's $19. Start with the free directory listing, or sign up and get free credits, no card, enough to run one business for about a month.

What it doesn't include. Paid ads, guaranteed rankings and submitting your business to directories. LotsBusiness tells you which directories matter and what to enter, and Google decides whether and where you appear. There's no online shop or payments here; that's LotsStore. Squarespace and Wix give you more design freedom.

Where it costs less or nothing

  • Free: a Google Business Profile, a LotsBusiness directory listing, Durable's Free plan (a preview and 4 basic directories), and Webflow's free Starter plan on a webflow.io address with 2 static pages.
  • Free to try: Squarespace is free for 14 days, and Hostinger has a 30-day money-back guarantee on its builder plans.
  • Lowest first bill: Hostinger's sale term, paid four years ahead, as the table shows.
  • Someone builds it for you: a web designer or agency charges for their time, and I can't give you a number that holds. Ask for a written quote that names the domain, email and yearly costs.

If you run websites for clients

Each client is its own business, so the price scales per client. The 25-business plan is $1,290 a year, which is $4.30 per business a month, and the 5-business plan is $390 a year, $6.50 per business a month. Extra businesses are charged at your plan's rate. Pro and Business include the agency tools: client access, approval links and hand-over. More in /agencies.

If you'd rather ask your AI assistant

Everything above works in the dashboard. If you already use Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, connect it to your LotsBusiness account and it can build the site with AI, change a section, add the blog or search for a domain for you. When it's time to buy, it shows you the price and renewal and gives you a checkout link. You pay, and nothing is published until you say so. Setup is at lots.business/mcp.

FAQ

On the plans I checked on 31 October 2026, $10 to $29 a month billed yearly for one business: LotsBusiness Starter $10, Webflow Basic $15, Squarespace Basic $19, Durable Launch $22 and Squarespace Core $29. Hostinger is lower on a 48-month prepay and renews at $10.99 a month. Add your domain and any email that isn't included.

What does a website cost in year one compared with year two? Year one often includes a free domain, free mailboxes or a sale price. Squarespace and Hostinger include a domain for the first year, and Hostinger's sale price renews at $10.99 a month. LotsBusiness's pricing page lists one yearly price, $120 for Starter, and charges the domain separately.

Is business email included in the price? It depends on the seller. LotsBusiness includes unlimited mailboxes on your own domain once it's connected. Squarespace includes one Google Workspace account free for the first year from Core. Hostinger includes 2 free for a year on Premium. Durable and Webflow don't list email on their pricing pages.

Can I buy my domain from LotsBusiness? Yes, for a paid business. Choose Get a new domain on the Website tab, see the first-year and renewal prices, and pay. The domain is registered in your name and paid separately from the plan. You can also keep a domain you own and connect it or have LotsBusiness manage its records.

What does adding a blog cost? In LotsBusiness a blog at yourbusiness.com/blog is billed on LotsBlog's plans, and LotsBusiness adds nothing. LotsBlog's pay as you go rate is $9 per blog a month from credits, and its plans start at $24 a month for three blogs. On Webflow a blog needs the $25 a month Premium plan with the CMS.

Is there a free way to start? Yes. A Google Business Profile is free, and so is a LotsBusiness directory listing. Durable and Webflow have free plans, and Squarespace is free for 14 days. LotsBusiness also gives free credits when you sign up, no card, enough to run one business for about a month.
