Google's new Gemini tools help a small business owner with branding, finances and their Google Business Profile. What they don't give you is a website for your customers on your own domain, email at your own name, listings beyond Google, or one price that covers all of it. Those still need to be yours.

Everything about Gemini below comes from Google's own announcement, [New Gemini tools for small business owners](https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/products/gemini-app/new-tools-small-business-owners/) (20 October 2026), and Google's help page [Manage your Business Profile on Google with the Gemini web app](https://support.google.com/business/answer/17142585), both read on 23 October 2026. I don't add anything Google doesn't say.

## What Google announced

Google says tens of millions of small business owners already use Gemini, and it announced four things for them:

- **A business landing page in Gemini.** Google describes it as a central hub where owners can build their brand, analyze finances, understand customer insights and more. It's a page for you inside Gemini. The announcement doesn't describe a website for your customers.
- **Connected apps.** Gemini connects to Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace, and to third-party apps including Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero.
- **On-brand visuals.** You upload your website, brand kit, fonts or colour palettes, and Gemini keeps that style for marketing images.
- **Financial insights.** Gemini turns spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records into charts and models.

Google says these roll out globally in the coming days to all Gemini app users.

Google's help page adds what the Business Profile connection does: update your hours, contact info and action links, draft review replies, create posts, and show your profile's performance. It works in the Gemini web app, with a personal Google account that owns or manages only one verified profile.

## What it doesn't give you

Read the announcement closely and a pattern shows: every tool works on top of things you already have. You upload your website for brand style. You connect your Business Profile. When you set up your business notebook, Google's help says you "enter or confirm the website URL for your business." Gemini helps you run these things. It doesn't hand them to you.

Here's what a local business still needs, and none of it is in Google's announcement.

### A website on your own domain

Your customers don't see your Gemini hub. They see your Google profile, and from there they tap through to your website. A site at yourbusiness.com is the page you own, the link your Business Profile asks for, and the page other search engines and AI assistants read about you. Google's own guidance on that is in [Do I need a website if I have a Google Business Profile?](https://lots.business/blog/do-i-need-a-website-if-i-have-a-google-business-profile)

You also need the domain itself, registered in your name, with a renewal date you know.

### Email at your own name

Gemini connects to Google Workspace, but the announcement doesn't add email. An address like info@yourbusiness.com comes from your domain and an email service, and Google Workspace is its own subscription. Customers trust a business address more than a free one.

### Listings beyond Google

The Business Profile connection covers Google. Customers also look on Apple Maps, Bing and the directories that matter for your trade, and your name, phone and hours should match on every one of them. That's still work you or your agency do.

### One price you can see in full

Google's announcement doesn't list a price for these tools. Whatever you use, add up the whole bill before you commit: website and hosting, domain and its renewal, email per mailbox, and anything charged after a first term. The honest number is the total for a year, then the year after.

## How LotsBusiness covers the parts Gemini doesn't

I built LotsBusiness for exactly this list. Every business starts with a free listing in the LotsBusiness directory, and a paid business gets:

- **A professional website** from a ready-made design for your kind of business, with hosting and HTTPS, on a free yourname.lotssite.com address or your own domain.
- **Business email** at your own domain with unlimited mailboxes, included.
- **Your Google Business Profile**, created step by step with Google's own verification or linked if you have one, then posts for offers, events and updates.
- **A directory listing guide**: which directories matter for your trade, the exact details to enter, and progress tracking. You submit them.
- **Every page set up** so Google and AI assistants can read your services, hours, area and contact details.

The price is per business: $10 a month billed yearly ($120 a year), or $19 billed monthly, with no first-term discount that jumps later. LotsBusiness doesn't sell domains, so you buy yours from any registrar and keep it there; check its renewal price when you buy. If payment lapses, nothing is deleted and your website stays online. [See pricing](https://lots.business/pricing).

Nobody can honestly promise you a spot on Google or in AI answers, and I won't. Google decides verification and ranking.

### For agencies

If your clients start using Gemini for branding and their Google profile, the site, the domain, the email and the listings are still yours to deliver. In LotsBusiness each client is one business in your workspace, from $4.30 per client a month on the Business plan billed yearly, with approval links and a clean hand-over. [How it works for agencies](https://lots.business/agencies).

### Use Gemini and LotsBusiness together

The two don't compete. Gemini can keep your Business Profile up to date. LotsBusiness gives the profile a website, a domain and email to point to. Everything in LotsBusiness works in the dashboard, and it also works with the AI agent you already use, such as ChatGPT or Claude ([setup](https://lots.business/mcp)). You approve before anything goes live.

## Common questions

### Does Gemini build a website for my business?

Google's announcement doesn't say so. It describes a "business landing page" as a hub inside Gemini where owners manage branding, finances and customer insights. It doesn't describe a public website on your own domain.

### What can Gemini do with my Google Business Profile?

Google's help says that once connected, Gemini can update your hours, contact info and action links, draft review replies, create posts and show your profile's performance. You need a personal Google account that owns or manages only one verified profile, and it works in the Gemini web app.

### Do I still need my own domain and email?

Yes. Gemini's tools work with a website and a Google profile you already have. Your domain, your website and email at your own name are separate, and they're what customers see and trust.

### How much do Google's new Gemini tools cost?

Google's announcement doesn't list a price. It says the tools roll out to all Gemini app users.
