If you are a plumber, electrician, roofer, builder or landscaper, you need a website that shows up when someone nearby searches for your trade and puts a quote request in your inbox. For that job I would start with LotsBusiness: one subscription per business covers the site, hosting, Google Business Profile setup, email at your own domain and an enquiries inbox, from $10 a month billed yearly. Six other options are below, each checked on its own pricing page today.

I checked every price and feature on the vendor's own pages on 3 November 2026. Where a page does not say something, I left it out rather than guess.

## What a contractor's website has to do

Customers searching "plumber near me" mostly see Google Maps and Search first, so the site is only half the job. Google's own help says local results rely on relevance, distance and prominence, and that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking ([Tips to improve your local ranking on Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7091), opened 3 November 2026). It lists what you control: verify the business, keep information complete and accurate, reply to reviews and add photos.

Two details matter if you work from home or from a van. Google's guidelines say a business that travels to customers should have one service-area profile, and that if you are a service-area business you should hide your address. Their own example is a plumber running the business from a home address ([Guidelines for representing your business on Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177), opened 3 November 2026).

So the checklist I used for this list:

1. A site you can publish on your own domain, with hosting included.
2. Help creating and verifying the Google Business Profile.
3. A form that turns a visitor into an enquiry you actually see.
4. Pages for your services and the areas you cover.
5. Somewhere to show photos of your work, reviews, and your licence and insurance details.
6. Business email at your own domain, so quotes do not go out from a free address.

## Where LotsBusiness fits a contractor

[LotsBusiness](https://lots.business) is built for exactly this bundle, per business. A Starter plan covers one business for $120 a year ($10 a month billed yearly) or $19 billed monthly. If you prefer no subscription, pay as you go is $20 per business a month. Pro covers 5 businesses and Business covers 25, which suits a small agency (more on that near the end). I read the [live pricing page](https://lots.business/pricing) today. Every paid business gets the same features, with no feature gates between plans.

What you get for a trades business:

- **A site made for your trade.** The "Trades and home services" starter kit is described as "Services, areas served, hours and a fast way to call", with home, services, about, contact and an optional gallery page. I pulled that from the LotsBusiness MCP today. A site can hold up to 20 pages, so a page per town you cover is a normal use.
- **Photos, reviews and a form.** The gallery section takes up to 24 of your business photos. The reviews section shows real published reviews left on your LotsBusiness listing. The contact section can show a form, a call button, a WhatsApp button, your hours and a map.
- **Enquiries in one place.** Messages from your website's contact form arrive by email and in your dashboard, with spam filtered out. You can also get a WhatsApp message for each one.
- **Google Business Profile.** Step-by-step setup and verification, then you can post offers and updates. For a service-area business, the listing does not need to show your address.
- **Business email.** you@yourbusiness.com with unlimited mailboxes on your own domain, once the domain is connected to your website. No per-mailbox charge.
- **Your own domain.** Connect a domain you already own, or start on a free yourname.lotssite.com address.
- **Directory guidance.** Which directories matter for your trade, the exact details to enter, and progress tracking. You enter them yourself.

What it does not do: there is no shopping cart, no payments and no appointment calendar. If you want to sell products online, that is a separate product, LotsStore. Everything works in the dashboard, and if you already use ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant, it can do the same work for you. New accounts get free credits when they sign up, no card.

Two things from the pricing page worth knowing: if a plan lapses, nothing is deleted and your website stays online, but editing, publishing, Google posts and email setup pause until you add a plan again. And a free listing in the LotsBusiness directory stays either way.

## The comparison

All prices are USD, for one business or site, from each vendor's own page. Checked on 3 November 2026.

| Durable | Launch $22 billed yearly or $25 monthly. Grow $41 yearly or $49 monthly | Connect your domain or register one free (up to $20 on Launch). The pricing page lists no business mailboxes | Google Business Profile, lead reply and the full directory set are not on the Free plan |

## The other six, briefly

### Durable

Durable's Launch plan lists a professional website with custom forms, hosting and unlimited traffic, a built-in CRM that captures and replies to leads, unlimited online booking synced to your calendar, and a Google Business Profile connection. The comparison table says the profile sync is for business data and review-request emails. The Free plan is a preview with up to 10 customers in the CRM. Durable is the closest bundle to LotsBusiness on the website side. The pricing page does not list business mailboxes, so plan on email from somewhere else.

### Squarespace

Squarespace is the design-first choice. Form blocks for contact forms and SEO tools are on all four plans, and the free custom domain applies on annual terms for the first year, renewing at the standard rate. The Google Workspace mailbox is free for the first year on select plans, then billed at the standard rate.

### Wix

Wix lists 2000+ templates, and its help centre has a Google Business Profile article: you create or link a profile from your site dashboard, and the help page says you need a connected domain first ([Wix help](https://support.wix.com/en/article/adding-and-managing-your-google-business-profile), opened 3 November 2026). The pricing page showed me regional, tax-inclusive figures rather than US list prices, so I am not quoting a number: open wix.com/plans for yours. The free domain voucher covers a new domain from Wix only, so it does not help if you already own one.

### GoDaddy Airo AI Builder

Airo is the one most contractors already have a login for, because they bought their domain at GoDaddy. Professional is labelled "Best for local businesses, online stores, bookings, and payments", and it adds the Google Business Profile connector, appointment bookings and online payments and deposits. Starter does not list the connector. Email is a separate product. I compare it in more detail with LotsBusiness in [LotsBusiness vs GoDaddy Website Builder](https://lots.business/blog/lotsbusiness-vs-godaddy-website-builder).

### Hostinger

Hostinger's headline is price, and the mailboxes come with it: 2 per site on Premium, unlimited on Unlimited, free for the first year. The page states the renewal plainly ("Renews at $10.99/mo for the same term"), so budget for the renewal, not the intro figure.

### Jobber

Jobber is quoting, scheduling, invoicing and online payments for field service businesses, and the website is included on every plan. It builds service pages from the services you offer, collects requests through request forms, and can show your Google reviews. If you already run jobs in Jobber, the included website may be enough. If you only need the website and Google presence, the software is more than you need.

## Turning the checklist into a real site

**Service-area pages.** One page per town or suburb you actually cover, each with the services you offer there and a clear call button. In LotsBusiness a site can hold up to 20 pages, and the services list on the site reads from your business record, so you change a service once.

**Licence and insurance.** Put your licence number and insurance details on the about or contact page, where a customer decides. I did not find anything in Google's profile guidelines that asks for them, so this one is about customer trust, not about ranking.

**Quote request form.** A short form with name, phone, job type and suburb beats an email address. LotsBusiness delivers form messages by email and into the dashboard. Durable, GoDaddy and Jobber also list request or booking tools on their plans.

**Photos of your work.** Google's help says business photos and videos show customers what you offer. Use the same photos on the site and the profile.

**Reviews and Google Business Profile.** Verify the profile, keep hours and service area accurate, and reply to reviews, in line with the Google page above.

**Email at your own domain.** Quotes from a free address look temporary. I wrote up how it works in [business email at your own domain](https://lots.business/blog/business-email-at-your-own-domain), and the DNS side in the [business domain email security checklist](https://lots.business/blog/business-domain-email-security-checklist). If you wonder who holds your data and domain, [is LotsBusiness safe](https://lots.business/blog/is-lotsbusiness-safe) covers it.

## If you run an agency

If you build sites for several tradespeople, LotsBusiness has an agency workspace on every plan: clients see only their own business, can approve a draft site or details through a link without an account, and you hand the finished business, its website and domain over to the client's own account when the work is done. Pro (5 businesses) and Business (25 businesses) are priced per business at a lower rate.

## FAQ

### Do I need a website if I already have a Google Business Profile?

Google lets you add your website to your profile, and its help says complete, accurate information helps you show up for relevant local searches. A website gives you somewhere to list every service and every area you cover, show photos of finished jobs and take a quote request. The profile and the website do different jobs, and the strongest setup uses both.

### Should a plumber or electrician show a home address online?

Google's guidelines say service-area businesses should hide their address from customers, and they use a plumber working from a residential address as the example. A business that travels to customers is allowed one service-area profile.

### How much does a contractor website cost per month?

Among the website builders in this list, the entry plans I checked run from $2.49 a month (Hostinger, 48-month term paid upfront, renewing at $10.99) to $22 a month (Durable Launch, billed yearly). LotsBusiness Starter is $10 a month billed yearly or $19 monthly, with business email included. Check the renewal price and what is included before you compare.

### Can I get email at my own domain with the website?

With LotsBusiness, business email with unlimited mailboxes on your own domain is included once the domain is connected to your website. Hostinger includes mailboxes free for the first year, Squarespace includes one Google Workspace account free for the first year on select plans, and Wix and GoDaddy sell email as a separate product.

### Can I take bookings or payments on the site?

LotsBusiness has no shopping cart, payments or appointment calendar. It takes enquiries through the contact form. Durable lists online booking, GoDaddy Professional lists appointment bookings and payments, and Jobber lists online booking, quotes and online payments.
